Music mixing by an engineer who gets your track

I'm Nomdo. I mix music from how the track was made, not from a fixed way of working. I listen to why you chose that one snare and kept that one ad-lib, and build the mix around it. But most of all: I know what it feels like to make something and want it to land.

Het verhaal

A mixing engineer working at an international level

In 2018, right after high school, I started in my room. No plan, no training, just a free program and a YouTube video. What was experimenting quickly became an obsession. Evenings became nights. Making music became the new gaming.

A few years later my work was on tracks by Lil Durk, NBA YoungBoy and Fredo Bang. The biggest breakthrough was Should've Ducked by Lil Durk — a track I produced from the Netherlands that went platinum in the US with over 200 million streams.

That way of thinking is in every mix I make. Not "is this technically correct" but "does this feel the way you meant it". That's why artists work with me: not for the credits, but because their track is still theirs after the mix.

It's not about how something sounds. It's about how it lands.

What a good mix does for your track

In a strong mix everything falls into place. You don't only hear the difference on studio monitors. You hear it in the car, on your AirPods, on a big system. A good mix sounds like it belongs everywhere.

  • Vocals sit in the track, not on top of it
  • Drums have the punch they're asking for
  • The low-end is tight and translates everywhere
  • Every element gets space without anything disappearing
  • Energy and emotion are amplified, not smoothed away

Why the mix decides whether your release lands

As an artist you know the mix is one of the last places a release can still go wrong. The production can be right, the vocals can be sharp, but if the mix isn't right the track doesn't translate — not on streaming, not on a system, not with your audience.

On big releases the difference rarely sits in the production. It sits in how the mix lets the track breathe. Whether vocals sit where they belong. Whether the low-end translates on every speaker. Whether the energy holds up the moment it lands on Spotify, in the car, in the club.

That's where I'm different from many engineers. I don't lay my own sound over your track. I mix from your production, with the credits to know what works at the level you want to be at.

How to deliver your stems

For the cleanest result:

Export each stem separately, from start to end of the track
WAV or AIFF, 24-bit or higher, same sample rate
Plugins off the master and individual tracks (except sound design)
Send a reference track for the sound you're after
No track may clip, keep everything in the green
Optionally a rough mix for reference

Deliver stems via WeTransfer, Dropbox, a ZIP file, etc. Not sure how? This video explains it step by step. Works for most DAWs.

Who I work with

For artists and studios

For artists

Working on a release for a label, your own imprint or a serious independent path? Then you know the mix decides between a track that lands and one that sinks. I work with artists when the stakes are higher — first label release, EP rollout, a single with sync potential, an album that has to perform.

  • Label & EP releases
  • Singles with sync potential
  • Two revision rounds as standard

For studios

Working with a roster and looking for a regular external mixing engineer for specific projects or overflow? I collaborate with studios that expect quality and direct communication.

  • Overflow & recurring projects
  • Direct communication
  • Per project or on retainer

What it costs

Mixes start from €300 for a 2-track (e.g. vocals + guitar). For larger productions with multiple layers, vocal stacks and ad-libs the rate is higher, depending on what the track needs. I don't have a fixed rate, because no two mixes are the same — but I can show you what the price is built from.

Number of stems and complexity

A track with 12 tracks is a different story than one with 60. The more elements, the more work.

Number of vocal tracks

Lead, doubles, harmonies, ad-libs, backing vocals — every layer needs attention.

Number of revision rounds

Two revision rounds are included as standard. Expect more feedback rounds and we price that in upfront.

Frequently asked questions

What does mixing cost?+

Mixes start from €300 for a simple track (like vocals + guitar). Send me the project and I'll give a quote within 24 hours.

How long until the mix is done?+

I usually count 5-10 working days from when the stems are in. For shorter release deadlines we can arrange a rush.

What's the difference between mixing and mastering?+

In mixing I bring all the separate stems into one coherent whole — balance, space, dynamics, character. In mastering that mix gets the final polish so it holds up on every platform and system. Two separate steps that reinforce each other.

How do I deliver my stems?+

Via WeTransfer, Dropbox or whatever you use. WAV or AIFF, 24-bit, plugins off the master, no track clipping. See the "How to deliver your stems" section for the full spec.

Do you work with every genre?+

My background is mainly hip-hop, R&B and pop, but I also mix indie & alternative. What matters is that I understand where the release needs to go.

Do you work with labels?+

Yes. I work with independent labels, imprints and majors looking for an engineer used to international releases.

How many revision rounds are included?+

Two revision rounds come standard with every mix. In practice that's enough. If more are needed, I work hourly (€90/hr) or we agree a wider scope upfront.

What if I'm not happy with the mix?+

That's why two revision rounds are included as standard. In the briefing and feedback rounds we have plenty of room to steer the mix until it's right. If something fundamental is still off after two revisions, we look at how to solve it.
